Upcoming June 10th: "Streets of Dublin" Exhibition at Phase Gallery Rathgar

Exploring Boundaries and Connecting Through Art

I am delighted to share the exciting news of my participation in the upcoming "Streets of Dublin" exhibition at PHASE, a multidisciplinary art gallery in Rathgar, Dublin. This unique event, curated by my talented colleague Katrina Rupit a fellow artist from the Minaw Collective, promises to be a captivating exploration of artistry in various forms, from canvas to mural, animations to digital art and audio.

The exhibition opens on June 10th, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have my artwork showcased alongside an incredible line-up of 26 diverse artists from Ireland and beyond, working in various mediums and disciplines. The event not only presents traditional forms of art but also explores the Intersection of traditional studio art and street art along with immersive technologies by the way of interactive projections, and live mural painting. This multidisciplinary approach demonstrates a collective effort to push the boundaries of artistic expression and engage with the audience in new and innovative ways. The dynamic gathering of creative minds will transform the gallery space into a vibrant hub of artistic expression, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a world of captivating visuals.

I'm excited to introduce my new pieces created specifically for this exhibition. The first, titled "Space Time Reality," is an oval canvas that invites viewers to contemplate the boundaries of our existence. The enigmatic portrait with mesmerizing large eyes and pop surreal features seemingly transcends conventional reality, beckoning us to explore the mysteries that lie beyond our perceived reality and symbolizing the possibility of experiencing alternate realms. The interplay of acrylic, spray paint, alcohol inks, and polymer varnish gives form to a world where imagination intertwines with the cosmos. It is my hope that this piece sparks a sense of curiosity and invites you to ponder the limitations of our own perceptions. It took me several days of planning and creation to bring this piece to life, and I am truly pleased with the result.

"Liquidic Mindscape," a square piece created on a wooden panel, captures the essence of ethereal dreams and the fluidity of our thoughts. Through a paint pouring technique using acrylics and a pouring medium called floetrol, I created a captivating blend of purples, browns, and titanium white. The combing process adds a touch of traditional Turkish ebru marbling, achieved by combing the paint in a marbling-like fashion, infusing the artwork with a sense of intrigue. The character emerges from this dreamlike pour, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Sequins and glittered elements bring texture, and the brown and lilac colourway adds a hint of 1970s kitschy nostalgia. This piece represents an exploration of the human experience, inviting viewers to delve into their own subconscious. By contemplating the shifting nature of our thoughts and the interplay between the poured background and character, "Liquidic Mindscape" hopes to spark introspection into the shifting nature of our thoughts and the profound connections between art, expression, and our perception of reality.

I absolutely love this new piece. The paint pour technique adds dramatic flair and brings a captivating narrative to the artwork. It has ignited a passion within me to explore further applications of this technique in my future creations. The fluidity and unpredictability of the process resonate deeply, and I'm excited to push the boundaries of this technique, combining it with my more established styles, to create even more engaging and thought-provoking artworks in the future.

I am also thrilled to be participating in live street art during the exhibition; alongside many talented artists from the Minaw Collective and the wider street art community here in Ireland. It's always an incredible opportunity to witness the creative process in action and engage with fellow artists, fostering an environment of collaboration and inspiration to bring this fantastic event to fruition.

If you're attending the exhibition, don't forget to visit the Creatives Market' beside the gallery’s lobby featuring a selection of artist’s merch, handmade crafts and books. I will also have some of my handmade jewellery available for sale, offering you a chance to take a little piece of artistry home with you on the day.

The "Streets of Dublin" exhibition promises to be an immersive experience, featuring live mural painting, interactive installations, and a captivating live musical performance from Contor Sounds.  PHASE, with its dedication to immersive technologies, will push the boundaries of traditional art spaces by incorporating lasers, projection mapping, and motion sensors into the exhibition. It's a celebration of creativity, inviting visitors to engage with art in new and unexpected ways.

I would like to express my gratitude to the PHASE gallery team, the director Conan Wynne, and particularly artist and curator Katrina Rupit for extending this wonderful opportunity to me.

If you're in Dublin during the exhibition, I would be thrilled to see you there!
